Winners of the Gold Tee Award were nominated and selected by the readers of the magazine based on the overall experience, including overall staff attitude, quality of guest service, range of recreation facilities, quality of the guest rooms and meeting facilities, proficiency of handling reservations, and availability of technical/support equipment. All winning golf properties will be highlighted in Meetings & Conventions’ special Golf Guide issue published in July.

Hilton Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort Wins Reader’s Choice Award

The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa recently received ConventionSouth magazine’s Readers’ Choice Award. ConventionSouth has been the recognized leader in covering the South’s meetings industry for the last 22 years.
After more than a decade of recognizing some of the most talented meeting professionals in the nation through its annual "Meeting Professionals To Watch" designation, ConventionSouth editors turned the tables by asking meeting professionals to name the convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs), convention centers, conference centers, hotels, resorts and other meeting sites that they believe display exemplary creativity and professionalism to groups.
More than 18,500 readers were asked to cast their votes for the Readers’ Choice Awards, and only the top vote getters out of approximately 2,000 meeting sites and CVBs received this recognition. Readers’ comments ranged from the very simple, "really great spot for meetings" and "first-class facility," to the very detailed, with some readers even bestowing accolades to particularly outstanding staff members.
"The value in receiving this recognition is that it comes from the United States’ top meeting planners who book events in the South. These planners demand the highest level of customer service and quality facilities, and they have determined that the recipients of ConventionSouth’s Readers’ Choice Awards do indeed display the commitment to professionalism, creativity, excellence and outstanding customer service they require," said ConventionSouth President and Publisher J. Seaview Marriott Resort & Spa Announces New Golfing Competition - Club Throwing with Cash Prize

Galloway Township, NJ, March 28, 2006 --(PR.com)-- New service calculates room rate plus applicable taxes, surcharges and any fees before guests complete reservations. Travelers can put away their calculators, pencils and paper. Marriott International, Inc. is helping eliminate uncertainty about the total price of guest rooms at all of its more than 2,700 hotels worldwide with the launch of Total Trip Pricing.

As every seasoned traveler knows, there can be an array of taxes and government surcharges added to your bill. While many travel web sites just list these by percentages in the small print for the traveler to figure out, Marriott’s Total Trip Pricing does the math for you. It eliminates guesswork by factoring in all applicable taxes, surcharges and any fees in an easy-to-read, line-by-line layout before customers complete their online reservations. In addition, Total Trip Pricing is also available when calling the company’s toll-free reservations line, by contacting a hotel directly or through selected travel agents.

“As part of our recently launched Spirit to Serve Our Guests initiative, we want to ensure that our guests are as fully informed as possible about the actual price of a guest room, including taxes, before they make reservations with us,” said Amy McPherson, executive vice president, Sales and Marketing, Marriott International. “Total Trip Pricing will remove much of the uncertainty in planning and budgeting for a family’s vacation or upcoming business trip by making pricing more transparent.”

The addition of Total Trip Pricing is one of many customer-focused enhancements Marriott has made to the travel planning and booking process. On Marriott.com, the company’s increasingly popular web site with $2.7 billion gross revenues in 2005, travelers can view thousands of hotel and resort photographs, as well as book separate air travel reservations. Just recently, the Customer Respect Group recognized Marriott.com for its treatment of online customers, ranking it best in the travel industry.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 28, 2007 -- Finding time to play a round golf is a struggle for most, and making time for a full-fledged vacation is oftentimes impossible. Today's multi-tasking society requires more from a vacation than sitting on the beach watching the sunset. Vacationers want to accomplish something and have fun doing it.
Golf fitness company Body Balance for Performance is giving golfers a chance to take a vacation while improving their game. The Aviara Golf Academy, named one of the top schools in the nation by Golf Magazine, is led by Kip Puterbaugh. He and his staff of master instructors have created a curriculum that gives students of all playing abilities the opportunity to improve their game.
"Very few golfers can devote the necessary amount of uninterrupted time to improving their game," said Puterbaugh. "A Golf Fitness Vacation is often the only time they can set aside for themselves for professional instruction. We're happy to provide that along with some much-deserved vacation time."
The Golf Fitness Academy's instructors employ Body Balance's unique training program, and they will work with golfers using Body Balance's patented technology, which analyzes the body mechanics of each individual golf swing. In addition, the Golf Fitness Academy offers on-course lessons, equipment evaluation and the opportunity to play daily on the award-winning Arnold Palmer-designed Aviara resort course.
The Aviara Golf Academy, located on site at the Four Seasons Resort Aviara, is also conveniently located near a variety of hotels and resorts. Go Vacations Golf will help golfers arrange for their accommodations. "We'll be making all the necessary arrangements, all the way down to scheduling tee times," said Roger Brunetti, CEO of Go Vacations Golf. Corporate rates are also available for group events. A Paradise for Golfers - Golfing Bermuda has Never Been Easier

Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 24, 2007 -- It's a little known fact that the 21 square mile island of Bermuda is one of the emerging tropical golf destinations and is highly regarded among the golfing elite.
Bermuda has been one of the best kept secrets in island golf, and Links Publications is using their Bermuda golf website to bring the destination into the "fore"-front of popular island vacation destinations for golfers.

According to Senior Guide Writer Jacob Baker "Bermuda is a favorite destination with a niche group of golf travelers and now it is time to let everyone know about the spectacular golf that can be found on the island."
With nine courses to choose from on the Manhattan-sized Island you will not be disappointed by any of the championship courses. Having the largest concentration of golf courses per square mile of any destination in the world makes Bermuda a golfer's dream destination.
The islands gorgeous scenery offers ocean view vistas and the climate is very agreeable for year round golf with an average temperature around 76 degrees.
Many of the golf courses have been built by leading course designers such as Robert Trent Jones, Sr. (responsible for the redesign of the Mid Ocean Club).
Bermuda is considered to be a resort island, with countless resorts offering amenities from spa and golf to windsurfing and scuba diving. One of the famous resorts on the island is the Fairmont Southampton Resort. This resort is home to one of the top rated executive golf courses in the world as well as world-class tennis facilities and numerous water sport activities.
This year the island will also play host to the 25th PGA Grand Slam of Golf, the Tours season-ending tournament where only players who have won a major championship have an opportunity to play and win the $500,000 first prize. The tournament will be broadcast on TNT from Oct. 16-17, 2007 and be played at the Mid Ocean Club.
"Bermuda may not be one of the most well-known golf destinations but we aim to change that. We are excited about the new design and hope that it will generate the buzz it deserves," says Guide Editor Jessica Costa.
Links Publications' Bermuda golf website is currently focused on providing visitors with information on golf and accommodations on the island and the future of the site is to provide a comprehensive destination guide for golfers. The guide will encompass additional activities including island adventures, water sporting activities, nightlife destinations, dining information as well as general tourism and news that could be useful for an upcoming vacation.
