Michigan Golf Resort: Boyne Highlands

BOYNE Golf Courses Boyne Falls, Mich., August 28, 2007 - BOYNE's eight champion golf courses are proudly participating in the nation's first Patriot Golf Day planned for Saturday, September 1; the event is a joint initiative of The Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) of America and the United States Golf Association (USGA) to raise monies to support families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of military duty.
Golfers playing on BOYNE's courses at Boyne Highlands Resort, Boyne Mountain Resort, Bay Harbor Golf Club and Crooked Tree Golf Club on September 1 have the opportunity to make a donation to Wounded Warriors, Inc., which directly benefits the Fallen Heroes Foundation. And for each golfer contribution, BOYNE will also donate one dollar to the cause.
Patriot Golf Day is being spearheaded by PGA Professional Dan Rooney of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Rooney is an F-16 pilot in the 125th Fighter Squadron of the Oklahoma Air National Guard who has logged two tours of duty in Iraq. Following his most recent tour, Rooney developed the idea for Patriot Golf Day and the Fallen Heroes Foundation. The organization's primary focus is to provide funds for undergraduate and graduate level education for the children and spouses of fallen or wounded soldiers.
